New Shoes

Toddlers love to run. Isaac is definitely one of them. Like his cousin Joesph, he's also trying to learn how to jump. So stinkn funny, when they can't actually do it yet!

We bought a basic pair of joggers for Zack-Zack on the weekend. It was like Forrest Gump when we put them on him. He had all this extra energy and just wanted to keep running. Here's some video clips of our day outside with him and the new shoes!

Decorating for Christmas

This is the first year in Oz that I've put up the nativity since we got it 3 years ago! Thank you Mom & Dad. :) It seems the last few years we were either moving house or travelling overseas at this time and decorating was the last thing on my mind. Mom would call me a real "bah-hum-bug"! ;)
So this year we were excited to put up our Christmas tree and did so in early November!!! :) Check out those curls on "Zacky". This was taken before his latest haircut.

I made an advent calendar a year ago, so we have started using it. Unfortunately, there are no chocolates. Isaac enjoys pulling the sheep and stars off though when he can.

My sister-in-law, Natalie and I even made gingerbread houses this year. We loaded them up with lollies (candies) and icing. Yum! It didn't last long. Who says you've got to wait til Jesus' birthday to celebrate? :)

And I couldn't resist trying to take a few photos of Isaac by the Christmas tree with his best friend, "Bear". This year, we get to spend Christmas Eve day with Grandpa Noel, Grandma Cheryl, Scott, Courtney & Tom. And after church on Christmas Day we'll head over to enjoy the afternoon with Nanny Lyn, Grandpa Frank, Megan, Steve, Natalie, Liam, and SuperPa! More pics to come soon!

We're singing a special kids song at church this Sunday in preparation for Jesus' birthday. It's by a guy named Colin Buchanan and is to the tune of "Jingle Bells". Thought I'd include it below:

Jesus Saves

Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves!

Jesus is the Way.

Jesus is the Saviour.

You can come to Him today!

Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves!

People from their sin.

You will find forgiveness.

When you put your trust in Him!

Praise you and thank you God for the gift of your Son, Jesus.
You always had a plan to allow us to come back to you.
Thank you for loving us even when we didn't want to know you.
Help us to share this gift with others this birthday season!
-Amen-

Kangaroos

We made a family outing last month to a nearby wildlife petting zoo. Packed a lunch, drinks, hats, and set off for a day of animal adventures. Oh... and of course "Mr. Movie" remembered to bring his DVD player for the car trip! :) He looks like he's going off to work for Google or Microsoft! ha!

The park is great for hands-on with koalas, kangaroos and farmyard animals. We took Mom & Dad last year when they came out for Isaac's birth and they loved it too. Little did we know, in Isaac's mind, the best part was not feeding/petting the animals...
...
The best part was getting to run around freely, playing in the gravel and dirt, running over bridges as many times as he wanted, playing hide-n-go seek with Dad in the dark bat/reptile cave, and eating special snacks from his lunch box!

Feeding time was a funny experience... Craig got 2 ice cream cones full of animal food and gave one to "Zacky". Knowing good stuff usually comes in ice cream cones, Isaac tried to bite the cone only to find animal seeds and not cold ice cream in it! Doh!
...
So Craig then showed Isaac how to feed the kangaroos. haha - Isaac then crouched down as if to be a kangaroo himself and tried to also eat from Craig's cone! So stinkn funny - such an odd kid. :) Finally, on the 3rd attempt, Isaac worked out how to give the food to the kangaroos. Needless to say he wasn't too impressed it was for them and not him! Here's a clip from the day....

Clam Shell Fun

One of the best gifts you can get a toddler is a clam shell and a couple of bags of sand or dirt...

Add a bucket of water and your set for some serious afternoon fun!

Stephen, Joseph & Kolbe can you come over for a play? :)

For Karen

We said goodbye to the dummy (pacifier) a few months ago and its been great! One day recently Isaac was digging through a drawer in the kitchen and found this one. We inherited from my sister, Karen, at Christmas 2007 when the boys were about 6 months old - so it's got a tiny sucking part.
Well Isaac just thought it was super fun to walk around all day with it in his mouth. Given it's small size, he must have been using a lot of mouth muscles just to keep it in!! ha! Thanks Kay for the laughs!! :)
